I am a 3rd generation member of our wonderful club and have been attending games my entire life. Our senior supporters would recall my brother and I growing up around the club as many of you are now watching my son. I have been a Semi Professional Artist, Photographer and Graphic Designer for many years and have my own small business, trading as Lithers Photography & Design.
After being seriously injured when I was hit by a car on the Kwinana Freeway and spending months on my back in hospitals, I was hanging out to get back to my 2 passions, namely watching The Mighty Royals and photography. When back on my feet, I started taking shots of games and many of the players suggested I post the pics for others to see. During the 2004 season, The Royals Gallery was born and since then the site has grown rapidly. My photo's are displayed in all Royals publications, as well as The Budget, The West Australian and The Sunday Times. In 2007, I was invited to be the Official Photographer for the club, a role I proudly took on and continue to develop. The Royals Gallery, now in its 9th season still remains the only dedicated photographic website in the WAFL.
I have played our great game since my youth at club and district level. But due to work commitments and injury, I was never lucky enough to pull on a Blue and Black gurnsey. Over the past 15 years I have become more involved in training and mentoring youths and adults as a Certified Trainer of Recruits at the WA Police Academy, a qualified Motorcycle Riding/Racing Instructor and as a qualified Physical Trainer. More recently, I have become bitten by the coaching bug and over the past 8 years have been coaching successfully at youth level in the South Fremantle district and as assistant coach with development squads at the EPFC.
I have been privelaged to watch the last 4 of The Royals premiership victories and I look forward to being able to bring our supporters all the close and personal shots of our next one. My favourite players over the years have been Peter Spencer, Dean Turner, Devan Perry, Craig Wulff and Michael Swan for their true guts and determination and for what the jumper means to them. Players such as Steven Payne, Brendan Lee and Dan MacAulay are fast becoming such players.
Thanks for visiting my site and supporting The Royals Gallery. Please visit my Photo Orders page to make a purchase so I can keep bringing you all the shots of our wonderful players in action.
